Good-to-go Messenger

The lovely Lisa from Two Pretty Poppets had a flash sale this weekend.  I purchased the Hang about Toiletry bag, that I’ve had my eye on for sometime.  I also got this Good-to-go Messenger which was ‘Free’.  We all love freebies.  TPP patterns are well written and are easy to follow, so give them a go!

I am making this Good-to-go Messenger.  I cut up a pair of my jeans….it’s OK they no longer fit.  So this will be the main bag fabric.  I am using a piece of ‘Retro’ Caravan Fabric for the flap, and a plain lining for the inside.  I am going to get this finished for the Brisbane Caravan Show in just over a weeks time, hopefully it will become a ‘show and tell’ item!!

Butterfly Bag

Here is the Butterfly Bag that I have made for my friends fundraiser for Crohn’s & Colitis Australia.  Tracey is participating in the charity’s Great Wall of China Challenge and is holding an event next weekend to raise much needed funds, and part of the fundraiser is a mega raffle of which this bag is part of.  I hope the winner likes it.  I think it looks pretty.

The bag pattern is ‘Coco’ courtesy of ChrisWdesigns.

Recycled Camo clutch

Here is the Camo ‘Clematis’ Clutch.  A few years ago I purchased some Camo shorts, and never wore them, I had been meaning to send them to the op shop.

My lovely friend purchased one of my bags and asked about a Camo styled one.  That gave me the idea to chop up the shorts  (which still had a tag on!!).

I’ve used the hemmed parts for the straps and used one of the pockets for the inner pocket – genius!

Well here she is….Isn’t she just ‘boopalicious’?

Complete with a red contrast lining and a bit of Boop-oop-a-doop pocket inside.

She’ll be up for sale on Etsy very soon.  Check out our Etsy store here for other bags and also Pete’s artwork!

Here is my next Clematis Clutch bag, all cut out, ready to interface and sew.

I must admit I am a bit of a Boop fan, always have been since I was very small (apparently). There is something about this iconic diva of the day.  Can you believe the very first cartoon was aired back in 1932!

Betty Boop

and here is the last clutch I finished this week.  I absolutely love this one.  I think it looks pretty classy!

Snake Print Clutch

Far East

Here is my third completed Clematis Clutch / Wristlet Bag by Blue Calla Patterns.

I purchased some Oriental brocade fabric a little while ago, and this was perfect to use on this little bag.  However, I didn’t realise how awkward it is to use this fabric, it frays when cut, so I and the floor are covered in threads!  Nevertheless, I think you will agree, that this does look pretty damn cute!
